Always Creating

I would say I am quit a creative person.

As a child I liked to draw, I would build dens in my room, I loved to cook (well bake mostly) and I even from an early age wrote stories. When I got into my 20s I started doing photography and learning photoshop, and now I’m getting into film.

I have jumped from one thing to the other and it’s wonderful. I know that I can learn anything I want to learn, I just need to have a creative outlet one way or another. I even want to create music now (but need to learn how to play an instrument first). Until writing this I hadn’t released how much being creative has been in bedded in me, but I guess it makes sense. I am the type of person that needs variety when it comes to a job, something inspiring and creative.

My projects right now are to complete the first draft of one of my stories, as I would love to be a published author. I have photographs to edit and even a trailer to create for a photography series I recently photographed. But one project I have been itching to do since last year was to bring out a little horror sketch, so for Halloween that is exactly what I did.

My sketch was a simple one, and the premise has been over done hundreds of times, but that doesn’t matter it is still my creation. While editing the sketch to launch I unfortunately was unable to get the edits I wanted. I used aftereffects and even managed to do the edit I wanted however the software didn’t want to work for me, either that or I did something wrong as this was the first time I had ever used aftereffects. So in the end I launched my sketch and I am happy with the end result, even if it wasn’t the finished produced I had hoped for.

But there are two ways I can go about it 1) sulk because I wasn’t able to get the polished final edit, or 2) be happy with what I had accomplished.

This was the first time I have ever done a sketch. I filmed and edited it all on my own without prior knowledge of the filming industry, I am completely self taught, and even though I had managed to do the edit I wanted, my lack of knowledge of a software is what unfortunately got the better of me, but that just means I need to keep plugging along and learn the new software, so that when next Halloween rolls around I will be better equipped to do an even better project than my first 🙂

So please enjoy my first little horror sketch, that I am happy I created 🙂
