Blimey! What a year.
This year has been an amazing one, one I am not likely to forget in a hurry which I am so grateful for. But the other day I posted some pictures on my Instagram account from the last 10 years, and it wasn’t until I went hunting for pictures that I realized just how full my life has been.
I realized that over the last 10 years I have changed so much. I have been and seen some amazing places and even surprised myself in my capabilities. Just to break down the years I will give you a quick over view of the last 10 years
2009 – I turned 20, I started my photography journey, I got engaged, I was unemployed until near the end of the year, I was insecure in myself, and I before the year ended became single.
2010 – I exercised and felt better in my skin, I got a job, I met someone who would become my all, I went to Prague with my mum.
2011 – I started uni and lost friends, I went to Amsterdam
2012 – Best year for my photography, I went on my first archaeological dig, went to Paris with my mum
2013 – Got into a proper relationship with the man I met back in 2010 (before then we had been on and off), went to my first ever convention, went to Venice and Rome with my mum, went on my second dig, went to the isle of man to watch the motorbike races, and went to Stonehenge 🙂
2014 – Went on my placement year, went on my third dig, a friend of mine got married, went to New York,
2016 – graduated uni, did race for life pretty muddy again, started work in a museum that I had wanted to work in for years, I fell out with some friends
2018 – I went to the WBros studios Harry Potter, I lost a friend to cancer and fell out with another friend, I went to Northern Ireland, Game of Thrones, I broke up with my first love (the boyfriend of 2013), I saw Michael McIntyre perform, I went to wales comic con twice
2019 – This year I quit my job, traveled A LOT, met people from all over the world and befriended some, I met Melanie Murphy at SITC, I saw Lindsey Sterling perform, I turned 30, I got a new job in a new career path, I’ve started to re-build connections with people, I am starting to be happier in myself and my life, and the icing on top of the cake I met David Tennant
I am happy to say that I am improving with my mental health and well being, I am becoming happier in myself. Yeah there are still areas that need improving and there are long term goals that I am no where near close to, but I know I am on the right path.
How do the last 10 years look for you?
Here’s to 2020 and what ever the next 10 years have to offer 🙂
